Four "appellations" are present in the Var:
Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, then Bandol, Coteaux
Varois and the oldest being, Côtes de Provence.
The latter is divided into several "terroir": the maritime border,
the inner valley, the hills of the upper region, the Beausset
Basin and Saint Victoire. Each area has its own particular soil,
climate, sunshine and hydrometric conditions
which give each one their originality.

The Cogolin vineyards, protected by the Massif des Maures
and steeped by the influence of the Mediterranean,
have a privileged geographical situation.

The Domaine de la Giscle is amply sun-drenched on the southern foothills of the Massif des Maures in the middle of age-old oaks and chestnut trees. Like the other wine growers of the community, the wines produced are classified AOC Côtes de Provence.
The Vineyards of Cogolin. In the 12th century Château des Garcinières was an abbey for Cistercian monks. In the 17th century it became the seigniorial home of the Count of Grimaldi. The vineyard has been in the Valentin family for four generations.
Château Saint-Maur, Patron Saint of Cogolin is dominated by a square tower with a bell tower and clock. You can see the large Russian oak casks in its cellars. From the vineyard, the view extends as far as Château de Grimaud.
Domaine Saint Marc is situated on the "route des Mines" on the West Side of Cogolin. It can be reached via a picturesque earthen pathway. At its end, the vineyard stretches out into the middle of the countryside. Reception in the wine making plant.
The Cave des Vignerons in rue Marceau, which groups together 155 winegrowers from the community will complete your visit. AOC wines and Regional wines.
