Saint Maur has in all probability been the patron saint of Cogolin since 1683. At that time, a chapel was erected in the district bearing the same name, to which "the faithful from the vicinity came in mass to the Whitsun feast to beseech the saint's intercession in order to be cured of sciatica and pains in the arms and legs" as Cogolin's parish priest wrote in 1730. Today it is a Patron Saint feast for the war heroes of Saint-Maur after a mess given in the Provençal language, followed by religious and festive processions with costumes, shows, carnivals and fireworks.
The celebration continues during the second week of May.
